I have a Sony 34XBR960 and I had not really played with the i.link stuff since I tried it a year or two ago and decided it didn't work. I was wrong, it works great on the Sony. Luckily I had a 6 to 4 pin firewire converter courtesy of the good old days when the firewire iPods shipped with them. So, what you want to do is setup your HDTV so that it controls the VirtualDVHS app like it would control a standard DVHS deck.
